QURANICUS
QURANICUS 360° Training Modules
A Complete Circle of Qur'ānic Manuscript Learning
The QURANICUS Training Package has been designed as a pioneering initiative to introduce, train, and empower researchers, students, and faculty members in the specialized field of Qur'ānic manuscriptology. Despite Pakistan's rich heritage of Qur'ānic manuscripts preserved in libraries, museums, archives, and private collections, the country still lacks a structured framework for training researchers, cataloguing manuscripts, and digitizing this invaluable heritage.
This program responds to that need by offering a comprehensive, multi-dimensional trainings / workshops that combine historical knowledge, practical skills, analytical training, digitization techniques, and exposure to global scholarship. The structure follows the 4Qs Framework — Quest, Question, Qualify, and Quantify — guiding learners from foundational orientation to advanced contribution.
Each module consists of 12 structured lecture-based trainings, delivered in compact 30-minute sessions (totaling 360 minutes), along with an experiential field visit module to libraries and museums. The field visit provides practical engagement with real manuscripts, cataloguing processes, and conservation practices.
Every training is certified, allowing participants to build their expertise progressively. The program is delivered by experienced scholars and trainers, renowned experts in Qur'ānic manuscriptology from across the world, ensuring a balance of local heritage studies and international best practices.
By the completion of the QURANICUS Training Package, participants will have developed a strong foundation in manuscript studies, acquired practical skills in handling and digitizing manuscripts, and gained access to global scholarly debates and methods. The program aims not only to safeguard Pakistan's Qur'ānic manuscript heritage but also to position the country as a vital contributor to international Qur'ānic manuscript research.
